Berry Cobbler Shake: Feed Your Brain

Brain Body Diet Recipe | Berry | Sara Gottfried MD

Start your day with a breakfast shake. It’s one of those small daily habits that can add up to major health transformation over time. My Berry Cobbler Shake is packed with delicious goodness.

Both chia seeds and flaxseeds are a great source of monounsaturated fats (MUFAs). Whole food fat leaves you feeling satiated instead of triggering a response to keep eating, unlike sugar.

Vividly colored vegetables and fruits such as berries are rich in carotenoids. This class of antioxidants helps your body remove toxins and protect against future exposures. Eating a rainbow mix of fruits and veggies ensures you are adding in dietary components that promote neurogenesis. Neurogenesis is the ongoing growth and development of new nerve cells (neurons), which contribute to functions like learning, emotional regulation, and memory. In other words, it protects your brain. My book, Brain Body Diet is packed with information on how to take care of your brain as you get older. Don’t age without it!
